EDUCATION

In this section, we will discover the healing properties of the four most significant cannabinoids in the Cannabis/Hemp plant. It is important to note that while each cannabinoid has been described by itself, you will notice that they share a great deal of the same healing properties between them. Furthermore, it is of essential value you understand that when cannabinoids are combined in their correct ratios they are vastly more impactful. This phenomenon is known as the "ENTOURAGE EFFECT". This effect is not limited by Cannabinoids working together but is also punctuated and enhanced by the naturally occurring Terpenes found in the plant responsible for giving Cannabis and Hemp their aromatic character. Terpenes are hydrocarbons which are a group in the essential oil family. Essential oils are widely known for their salubrious effects on the body, mind, and spirit.

Research is such that not all cannabinoids have been given the same attention. CBD has the lion share of the attention as of now but that will change as more research time is devoted to other cannabinoids and the naturally occurring terpenes.

We say this in an effort to encourage you to try other Cannabinoids and combine them to experience a maximum effect.

We hope you enjoy this reading, we have included links for further reading for those of you who need it.

 A briefing on CBD

CBD or Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid and it is currently the most popular of the cannabinoid family. While CBD has gained a lot of attention for curing inflammation and reducing anxiety, there is more to CBD that we feel will help you understand if it's right for you.

INFLAMATION: Yes it does reduce inflammation, about as much as ginger or turmeric so it is by no means in a league of its own. When all things are considered with ginger and turmeric being so cheap and widely available among other alternatives we do not advise taking CBD solely to affect inflammation. We do, however, recognize it as a solid bonus when taking CBD for one of its other more profound benefits.

ANXIETY: 400mg of CBD will significantly reduce anxiety. CBD has been tested extensively on this front and it has proven to be a powerful anxiolytic (anxiety reducing) with no side effects reported after extended chronic administration (prolonged use). If your target is anxiety CBD is guaranteed to help.

BLOOD PRESSURE: Yes, but only marginally effective and mostly due to its anxiolytic properties.

PAIN RELIEF: Yes CBD can help with pain but again this is a marginal effect as a result of the anti-inflammatory properties of the cannabinoid. A nice added benefit but we feel this should not be a target goal when choosing to use CBD.

DIGESTION/NAUSEA: CBD does help with digestion and soothing nausea. The effect is even more powerful when CBD is paired with THC, this union is known as the "Entourage Effect".

To reiterate what was already said under the summary of this EDUCATION section- The entourage effect is not however limited to just the synergistic effects CBD and THC combined, it also includes other cannabinoids and terpenes. The Entourage Effect attempts to describe the effects and the synergies of the cannabis/hemp plant when used with all the bioavailable compounds inside of it.

CANCER: Yes. CBD inhibits the growth of cancer cells. This has been tested with success in every study. With cancer cases for both men and women expected to increase by 20% or more in 2020, it is a no brainer that you should be using CBD as a cancer preventative.

SEIZURES/ ANTI CONVULSANT: Yes. CBD has been tested on children with Dravet syndrome, Doose syndrome, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, and Idiopathic Epilepsy. CBD has proven to reduce seizures for those suffering from diseases with symptomatic seizures, especially with children. Rock solid results.

briefing on CBG

CBG or Cannabigerol is Non-Psychoactive and the "stem-cannabinoid" from which CBD, THC, CBN as well as many other cannabinoids develop from. The "granddaddy cannabinoid" if you will. It is lesser known mainly due to the difficulty in its processing as well as only being found in trace amounts within the known verities of both cannabis and hemp.

CANCER: By far the most potent of the cannabinoids when talking about killing cancer, CBG is downright miraculous. The studies are such that just a little digging will reveal the amazing potential CBG has in fighting cancer. The catch? As stated, it is difficult to process and is only found in trace amounts making it quite expensive. Rest assured as soon as the CBG is made more affordable by developing strains richer in this cannabinoid you can bet it will be EVERYWHERE!

GLAUCOMA:  Yes, studies show CBG helps profoundly with managing the symptoms associated with the disease.

THC-Tetrahydrocannabinol.jpg
A briefing on THC

THC or Tetrahydrocannabinol is the psychoactive cannabinoid responsible for feeling "high". Although it sometimes gets a bad wrap, for this reason, we shouldn't be too quick to pigeonhole this cannabinoid. TCH has its own list of profoundly salubrious effects but for those skeptical of potentially getting high from TCH rich medicines it is important to remember that TCH is also very powerful when being used together with other cannabinoids in smaller/trace amounts (.3-1.0) to create the entourage effect as explained in the "Briefing on CBD".

PAIN RELIEF: Yes. THC works to relieve pain by activating pathways in the central nervous system that block pain signals from being sent to the brain. This is especially effective for those who suffer from neuropathic pain or nerve related pain.

NAUSEA: THC helps to soothe stomach discomfort. Marinol (the synthetic pharmaceutical for TCH) has been used by doctors for over four decades to soothe nausea.

APPETITE: Yes THC can increase appetite and even make food taste better. THC Interacts with the same types of receptors in the hypothalamus that release the hormone ghrelin, which stimulates hunger.

Cancer: THC is responsible for the initial research associated with cannabis and its anti-cancer benefits. In 1998 a biologist by the name of Cristina Sanches at the Complutense University in Madrid made the discovery that brain cancer cells died each time they were exposed to THC. This surprising discovery led to her peers reviewing and doing their own research most notably that THC is responsible for:

1) Reducing tumor cell proliferation,

2) Apoptosis of cancer cells. ( Selectively targeting and destroying tumor cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed.)

3) Inhibiting angiogenesis ( The formation of new blood cells that feed tumor growth)

A briefing on CBN

CBN or Cannabinol was the first cannabinoid to be discovered by a scientist. CBN is nominally psychoactive (meaning very very mildly). CBN is known largely for its sedative effects. CBN is what THC turns into overtime with exposure to light, heat, and air.

SEDATIVE/SLEEP: CBN has shown to be a powerful sedative with empirical data showing that just 5mg before bed can put severe insomniacs to sleep while smaller doses have been shown to lessen the feelings of mania in bipolar patients. CBN stands in a league of its own here.

PAIN RELIEF: CBN works in much the same way that its brethren cannabinoids to sooth pain by activating pathways in the central nervous system that block pain signals from being sent to the brain.

ANTIBACTERIAL: Research has shown that CBN as well as CBD CBC and THC all have antibacterial properties subjugating MRSA among other forms of non-antibiotic responding bacteria.

APPETITE STIMULANT: CBN will increase appetite. This has been proven when tested in rats and is particularly helpful to people suffering from loss of appetite due to cancer.

SEIZURES/ ANTI-CONVULSANT: CBN Like CBD has been tested and is also helpful in reducing seizures in the many diseases they are symptomatic of.

PENDING:

ALS/LUO GEHRIG'S DISEASE: Protecting and inspiring neurological development.

BONE DENSITY: Increase bone density.
